Today, rookies Jonquel Jones and Aliyyah Handford met the Connecticut media for the first time, as the Connecticut Sun held media day.

Seated side by side, the two rookies seemed very at ease, comfortable in their new surroundings. Both, however, expressed feelings of reservation and nervousness as they adapt to new routines and the rigors of the pro game and pro life.

Jones, the first round draft choice acquired draft night via trade with the Los Angeles Sparks, is a 6'6 center from George Washington. Coming from an Atlantic 10 school, she does not have the background of someone from a power conference, and admits the physicality of the pro game is a challenge she needs to adjust to.

Handford is a third round pick from St. John's, who coach Curt Miller said is by far the most athletic player in camp. Handford needs to adjust to being more facilitator than scorer, but realizes the key to her making the roster may be her defense.

It was a pleasure meeting and talking to them both. For your listening pleasure, here is my conversation with Connecticut Sun rookies Jonquel Jones and Aliyyah Handford
