Sparse WNBA schedule last night, with the only game held in Indianapolis, where the home Fever fell to the Washington Mystics, 92-69.
It was an important win for the Mystics, who went into the Olympic break by losing seven in a row and needed this to stay even with surging Seattle for the eighth spot in the playoffs.
The Mystics' second half onslaught eliminated a 39-36 halftime deficit, led by balanced scoring and impressive three-point shooting.
Natasha Cloud led the Mystics with five assists, committing zero turnovers and also hitting both of her shots from the floor.
Three of Cloud's five assists came setting up game high scorer Tayler Hill for three-pointers, four Hill hit on the night. Overall the Mystics hit nine on the night.
That performance makes Natasha Cloud our Disher of the Night!
Hill was the leading scorer for Washington, but for this night, our Swisher of the Night honor goes elsewhere.
Rookie Kahleah Copper was particularly impressive, scoring a career-high 17 points. Copper drove repeatedly on the Fever, creating opportunities and drawing fouls.
Copper scored those 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor (1-of-2 three pointers), and 6-of-7 foul shots.
For her career-high and her impact on the game, Kahleah Copper is our Swisher of the Night for the first time!
Congratulations to the Mystics on their win, and Natasha Cloud and Kahleah Copper on their honors!
